The Flasher Woodpecker/Bird Deterrent is wind operated and it is best hung from the outside corner of buildings. At this location it can receive wind from 270 degrees, as well as increasing visibility to the woodpecker. If trees are present at these locations, move the flasher to a point that receives not only wind but is visible from the area that is receiving woodpecker damage. It is usually not necessary to put it directly at the point of activity, however try to keep it within 20 feet of the damage area. Comes complete with a wire arm for mounting with a drywall screw to the side of the structure.

Weak connector
Michael Niemeyer (Ruidoso, NM) | January 22nd, 2024
I’ve purchased several Flashers over the past couple years. They have done a great job of keeping woodpeckers from destroying my home. My main complaint is they need better connectors. We get fairly strong winds, which tend to break the spinner connectors. I started replacing the provided connectors with heavier ones from a fishing supply store. So far they have held up.

Flasher needs work
Len Eisenberg | April 6th, 2022
Flasher design in ok and it works ok, but the ones shipped to be were very difficult to clip onto the wire holder. The hole in the flasher is too low, and the clasp is too small and cheaply made, making it a big pain to clip it onto the wire.

Keeps away woodpeckers, just what I was looking for!

Replacing one installed by previous Wildlife Company - at fraction of original cost!

We had a woodpecker issue a few year ago after moving into a new house & a couple of these were installed and solved the problem. After a really severe storm, one of them was damaged & the cost to have them come out to hang up a new one was over $100. Found these online & had it up myself in less than 15 minutes for a fraction of the price.
Does Not hold up

Cheaply made with bad components. First strong wind storm and they all broke off and were laying in the yard

The Flasher
Kim Monahan | April 20th, 2020
We had a problem with a woodpecker who kept damaging the columns on our house. After three expensive repairs I found The Flasher. Problem solved. Inexpensive fix that's lasted 3 years already.

Great product
Kmac | August 27th, 2019
A local company wanted to charge us $1000 to place these on our house. We bought 5 for $50, installed them ourselves, and have had no woodpeckers. Easy to install. Would recommend if you have woodpeckers.
cheap materials
Sara | June 14th, 2019
Both the materials and assembly are cheap. We don't expect the product to last very long.

Flickers Beware
Mountain Views | May 6th, 2019
Strong, durable, flashy, these flashers are well-constructed and definitely are helping curb bird damage to our home in the Rockies.

Works great!

I have installed these on a number of my customers homes. They seem to be the most effective woodpecker deterrent.
