The WCS™ Tube Trap is a very effective squirrel trap.  Constructed of 21-guage steel, this tunnel shaped trap is 4.5 inches in diameter, 15 inches long, and is powered by a beefy double torsion spring.  All parts are precison cut by laser so there are no sharp edges to contend with.

Used either baited or non-baited, the Tube Trap is a natural attractant to squirrels wanting to run through it or hide in it. Once the squirrel reaches the pan in the middle of the trap, the double torsion spring is triggered. When a capture is made, the squirrel is generally hidden from public view. 

Caution: This is a lethal trap, use special care when and where setting.

BAITING: There are two preferred ways of using the TUBE Trap in a baited fashion. First, using your favorite paste type bait smear some directly onto the triggering pan of the Tube trap. For added appeal, press some bird seed of sunflower seeds into the paste bait. Then take a 1/4" piece of hardware cloth or screening and lay it on top of the triggering pan containing the bait and wrap the edges around the pan. The easiest way to do this is to grip it with your hand. This makes it harder for the squirrel to access the bait, and they have to work at it.

The second method involves smearing your favorite paste bait directly above the pan. To do this, turn the trap completely over, BEFORE SETTING IT, and smear the paste directly over the pan area.  Then turn the trap back over and set it according to proper instructions.  Again, this makes the squirrel work for the bait as they will be focused on the bait, not on the triggering pan.

We bought these to try and reduce gray squirrel damage to our deck and furniture around our bird feeders. On the first day, we caught 8 gray squirrels in less than 8 hours. The traps are well built, heavy duty, and will last for years. Squirrels enter these more readily than the Havaharts we had been using. We are very pleased.

This trap has so many applications. Gable vent,soffit,fireplace,gutter,sill,siding, dryer vent entry ... you name it, can be adapted to almost any application. I have not used cages for squirrels in years. Species specific, I have used it unbaited and caught squirrels running through, natural curiosity. Have this trap in 15" and the shorty. Use the mounting hardware that's available and go. Easy to set, discreet and humane.
