Safeguard #52830 Live Cage Trap measures 30"L x 11"W x 12"H with the Slide Release Back door feature. This trap is constructed of 16 gauge 1" x 1" galvanized wire mesh and will deliver years of service. The sliding rear door makes baiting easier along with the release of captured animals. Good for skunk, raccoon, opposum, feral cats, cat rescue, woodchuck (ground hog), armadillo etc.

STANDARD SERIES FEATURES:

  • All traps of 24" and larger are made of Galfan® wire as opposed to common galvanized wire for a higher corrosion resistance, resulting in a three-times longer life.
  • Safeguard Traps are made with a heavy-duty reinforced spring-loaded door, to provide maximum performance and superior animal retention.
  • All traps include a heavy-duty bait tray designed to eliminate damage by trapped animals.
  • Safeguard Traps are available in a Front Release or Rear Release models for easier baiting and a safer release process.
  • All traps are made in the USA are are covered by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects. 

TIP: Bait placement should be all the way to the rear of the trap, beyond the triggering pan. DO NOT smear or place directly on the triggering pan.  You want the animal to pass over and onto the triggering pan with their focus and attention on the bait.

Set the new, washed trap and followed the WCS video using cabbage with their Whistle Pig Bait and their Woodchuck Urine --- REALLY --- 3 days / 3 woodchucks, 1 a day, not bad for a dummy who has NEVER trapped. My organization, Community Cats Alive, uses this trap for our large-scale Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return projects. The rear-release door is critical and allows us to easily bait the traps and to then hold cats until they can go into the clinic since the sliding rear door lets us easily feed for the day or 2 holding time we have.
