Great Tool - Buy the ACO Special
Stephanie Austin | November 14th, 2021
I already submitted a detailed review, but forgot to mention that you should buy the ACO Special rather than the dog version by itself. The ACO Special contains everything you need, plus an extra cable.

Indispensable Tool for when Everything Else Fails
Stephanie Austin | November 13th, 2021
I am part of a volunteer dog catching/trapping team, and we had a dog who we just couldn't catch. We had been trying for almost 4 months, first with a box trap, then with a Missy trap. She just would not go in either. We also got her vet to prescribe telazol and acepromazine to put in her food, and it made her drowsy, but she was still able to evade us. We finally came across this product, and after reading reviews and watching HARTT's videos on its setup and use, we decided to try it. It worked on the first try!!! We were so relieved to finally catch our girl and bring her to safety. If you buy this, definitely watch the manufacturer's video (on this site), and HARTT's setup video (at https://youtu.be/UfB8k1eScPk). The initial setup can be a bit tricky, and my device had a slight glitch that made me think I wasn't putting it together correctly (the issue was with the way the cinch spring was inserted into the base). I also recommend making the wood holder/incline like HARTT recommends in their video. Without the Collarum, I don't know if we ever would have caught this dog! (Note that the dog does freak out, and I wouldn't recommend the Collarum as a first option, but it can be a good choice in certain situations where other tools/traps have failed.
Fantastic Product!

The collarum is fantastic! We had been trying 2.5 mos. to catch my dog. She was born & had lived on the streets for the first couple years of her life until she was trapped & rescued 6 mos prior to escaping from my backyard. We had tried a live trap & a large pen with absolutely no luck. With a vet's help had even tried drugging her a few times. Living on the streets, the drugs had little to no effect on her. She is also extremely smart. If it looked out of place or out of the ordinary she wouldn't go anywhere near it. Then a friend ordered the Collarum. We didn't dig a trench like it is suggested in the video. We merely anchored it to the ground as suggested & covered it with some lawn clippings. First time at the trap & trying to get the food, BAM she was caught! I just wish we had found this earlier. It would have saved us a few months of sitting, watching & trying to trap her.

Best trap ever! Works great got my dog back!

I have a 1.5 year old very female German Shepard. After a botched attempt to catch the 70 pound girl in a federal dog cage trap for large dogs that I had borrowed from the local Animal Control, she got wise and wouldn't enter the trap. Next there was attempts to sedate the dog with ace pills from my veterinarian. Even at higher doses this was ineffective. My girl was easily trotting away. The animal control officer told about the collarum trap he had. I couldn’t wait and I ordered the dog model. I followed the instructions and assembled the trap, made the recommended adjustments and studied all the helpful hints and watched the videos. I use the canine bait on the covered white bite pull provided. I had been feeding my dog and using peanut butter treating her every night. I set my trap, anchoring as instructed, sprinkled some of my wife’s potting soil to hide the trap with only the bite pull exposed with the bait applied. At 11:22 pm the trap was set and a hour later I checked to see the results. Found my dog trapped. She was waiting like a dog on a short lead. Worked great!!!
The better mouse trap

My wife and I have run a Beagle and Coonhound rescue for 18 years (www.houndsong.com). In that time we have tracked and trapped more stray dogs than I can accurately count. We even have a Bluetick Coonhound who tracks/trails lost animals. The point being...we have paid our dues in the stray dog arena.\r\nWe recently bought a Collarum trap as a "last ditch" effort to catch a particularly stubborn Coonhound we had been trying to trap for nearly two months.\r\n\r\nBeing honest....even though the Collarum was designed for canines...I was a little worried about the Collarum flipping past the big floppy ears of a Coonhound. Most canines ears being set higher on their head and most not having quite as much ear as a hound, I worried that the trap may strike the ears and be misdirected. It was not.\r\nWe had worked on trapping this dog for 57 days...in the 57th day we placed your trap. The first night the dog was a no show at the trap location. The 58th day he was not interested in our bait. On the 59th day, just the third night your trap had been placed (and baited with steak this time) we got him with the Collarum.\r\nIt worked like a CHARM!\r\n I wish we would have came across it 58 days earlier. I have shown it to our local Animal Control, other rescue organizations and conservation folks we know.\r\n\r\n"you really have gone and built the better "mouse trap".\r\nThis is an amazing product.
