The stainless steel white Universal VentGuard™ by HY-C is easy to install over most 3" to 4" exhaust vents. This unit is an effective barrier against birds and small animals such as squirrels, mice and other rodents. This vent cover is powder coated and is made entirely of heavy-duty stainless steel mesh that will not rust or corrode.
This VentGuard measures 6 3/4" x 6/34" at the open bottom and tapers to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" at the enclosed top and is 4 3/4" high

I reviewed all available Rodent Guards to arrive at this one. I was not disappointed. This is a well designed guard made of Stainless Steel & Powder Coated. It was easy to mount with only two #10 Stainless Steel Screws into Lead 5/16" "Lag-Shields" into a brick wall. It is sized properly for a standard Dryer Vent and looks great. Mounting as I did both screws can be loosened quickly and the guard shifted up and off for maintenance. You can't go wrong with this Guard. Problem Solved!

Product was exactly as I expected. I like the SS construction and the appearance of the powder coating. I purchased a second one to cover all my vent openings. Damage by squirrel was a lot more expensive than this guard. Quick service as well.

Product seems to be very well made, except for the mounting flanges, they are not bent to 90 degrees, instead they are flanged out which makes them harder to mount. I tried to bend them to 90 degrees but found it very difficult without breaking some of the weld joints between the metal mesh and the mounting flanges. The mounting flanges have KEY slots so the Guard and be removed simply by loosing the four mounting screws and sliding the Guard off the side wall of the house. With the flanges bent the way they are, makes this task more difficult to place the screws exactly in the outside wall, so they align perfectly. Manufacturer should review this concern.
