It's back!! WCS is pleased to announce the return of the WCS™ Shorty Tube Trap™! This trap is a shorter version of the classic Rust Resistent Tube Trap, but with a few new advantages. Just like its big brother, it is treated with an electro-plating process which is black in color and is highly rust resistant. No need to dip, dye, or spray paint these traps. Just pull them out of the box and use them. This tunnel shaped trap is a very effective squirrel and rodent trap. Constructed of 21-gauge steel, the trap is 4.5 inches in diameter, 7.5" inches long, and is powered by a beefy double torsion spring. It now offers a zero clearance strike and its smaller size allows it to be used in spaces where larger traps just won't do. Used either baited or non-baited, the Shorty Tube Trap is a natural attractant to squirrels wanting to run through it or hide in it. Once the squirrel reaches the triggering pan in the middle of the trap, the double torsion spring triggers the strike bar. The WCS™ Shorty Tube Trap comes with a built in safety latch to prevent the trap from prematurely firing while setting. Caution: The Shorty Tube Trap is a LETHAL trap, use special care when and where setting.

IMPORTANTPlease stake down the trap to minimize possibility of theft by a larger animal, i.e., coyote.

Product Features

  • Rust resistant
  • 21-guage steel
  • 4.5" in diameter, 7.5" long

BAITING

There are two preferred ways of using the Tube Trap in a baited fashion. First, using your favorite paste type bait smear some directly onto the triggering pan of the Tube trap. For added appeal, press some bird seed of sunflower seeds into the paste bait. Then take a 1/4" piece of hardware cloth or screening and lay it on top of the triggering pan containing the bait and wrap the edges around the pan. The easiest way to do this is to grip it with your hand. This makes it harder for the squirrel to access the bait, and they have to work at it. The second baiting method involves smearing your favorite paste bait directly above the pan. To do this, turn the trap completely over, BEFORE SETTING IT, and smear the paste directly over the pan area. Then turn the trap back over and set it according to proper instructions. Again, this makes the squirrel work for the bait as they will be focused on the bait, not on the triggering pan.

I've had mine for several days now -- two squirrels and one roof rat so far.

Fast and Easy

Been using body traps for a few months for squirrels but tired of setting in trees or on fences. The critters seem to find a way to trigger the body traps and then steal the bait with no victim. This tube trap is quick and deadly and eliminates that issue. Once they are in the tube they are committed and I no longer get sprung traps with no victim. Oh, and it's been in Seattle for weeks and no rust!

Works well!

I got this trap a few days ago and I'm amazed at how well it works. I've tried most traps and none seemed to work consistently. In three days 7 squirrels sent to long term underground storage.

Squirrel in attic

I had a squirrel in my attic and could not find how he was getting there. Used Shorty Tube with peanut butter. Trapped on second day. No more problem for now.

The most effective trap that I've come across for catching squirrels, I would recommend these traps to anyone!
