WCS is pleased to offer the ARMOR-COATED WCS™ Tube Trap™. The Tube Trap is treated with an electro-plating process which is olive drab in color and is highly rust resistant. No need to dip, dye, or spray paint these traps. Just pull them out of the box and use them. Will last for years. This tunnel shaped trap is a very effective squirrel and rodent trap. Constructed of 21-gauge steel, the trap is 4.5 inches in diameter, 15 inches long, and is powered by a beefy double torsion spring. Used either baited or non-baited, the Tube Trap is a natural attractant to squirrels wanting to run through it or hide in it. Once the squirrel reaches the triggering pan in the middle of the trap, the double torsion spring triggers the strike bar. When a capture is made, the squirrel is generally hidden from public view. The WCS™ Rust Resistant Tube Trap comes with a built in safety latch to prevent the trap from prematurely firing while setting.

Product Features

  • Electro-plating, armor-coated
  • 21-gauge steel
  • 4.5" in diameter x 15" long
  • Built-in safety latch

IMPORTANTPlease stake down the trap to minimize possibility of theft by a larger animal, i.e., coyote.

Hair Trigger Both Good And Bad

Deer and / or raccoons trigger my traps every single night requiring me to reset / re-bait them every single morning. Time consuming.

Hasn't caught a squirrel yet
Dave (Indiana) | June 1st, 2023
I've had the tube trap for about two weeks. I ordered the trap to get rid of the squirrels that have cost me about $900 is repairs for chewing on the wiring under my pickup. I've placed the baited trap in four different locations around my yard. So far, it hasn't caught any squirrels, but then, since the trap arrived, I haven't seen any squirrels. They must have been frightened and moved on to the neighbors' vehicles. The trap arrived promptly after ordering, is relatively easy to set, and seems to be well constructed.
Tricky to arm but lethal

Followed advice and info from other reviewers and mounted to 2x4 which helps A LOT in setting and controlling the set up. It DOES make the trap more stable though and a little harder for the squirrels to set off, especially smaller ones. Followed the advice on opening up the trigger pan a little, also smoothed the edge with a file. Didn't loosen the bolt (yet) but did put a drop of silicon spray on it). You really do have to set it with a "hair trigger" but the spring tension is so strong it will not go off unless the pan is disturbed. Seems to work best when pan is tilted just a little bit up-hill (i.e. trigger mech downhill) which increases the leverage on the pan. Have had only 100% kills. Fast. Clean.

One and done?

Caught one red squirrel within the first 48 hours and then no more. Hard to believe the rest of the population figured it out so fast. Have to go back to sitting on the patio and shooting them.

Squirrels figured it out
Stone | July 28th, 2020
First, I used my first tube trap for years, with great success. I caught more than 20 squirrels in the trap. I started having declining success in late 2019--I noticed the squirrels were able to steal the bait without triggering the trap. Since my trap was rusted, I ordered a new rust-resistant trap. Well I have had the trap for a month, and have caught no squirrels. I have no less than four of the rodents living in the trees in my backyard, and I think the little varmints have figured out the trap. They stay away from it, no matter what bait I use...peanut butter, walnuts, squirrel paste, pecans, you name it. So it worked initially, but the squirrels wised up to it.
