The Bobcat & Grey Fox Cage Trap measures 36"L x 9"W x 18"H and is constructed of 1" x 1" wire mesh which is powder-coated brown for added durability and ease of camouflaging. The Bobcat & Grey Fox Cage Trap has a locking guillotine-type gravity door constructed of .25 cold-rolled steel rod. Since the door closes in a straight down manner it minimizes the likelihood of obstructions preventing its closing.  The combination of gravity, coupled with the powder-coating makes this an extremely fast closing and quiet trap door.  There is a handle located off-center on the top of the trap for ease of level transport.

An added and unique feature of this trap is that from the moment an animal enters the door opening they are standing on the SOLID triggering pan, there is no walking on wire mesh. The triggering pan covers almost the entire floor of the trap, so refusals due to walking on wire mesh are eliminated. The pan at the interior end has approx. 2.5 - 3 lbs. of pan tension and works in a see-saw fashion.  When the trap fires the animal is well inside the traps enclosure.

. . .using the NB Bobcat Trap!

SETTING THE BOBCAT & GREY FOX TRAP:

The triggering mechanism on this trap is the simplest we've seen in years.  You simply rotate the lock, found on the outer top door frame OUTWARD and lift the door itself until the bottom edge of the door comes to rest on the triggering bar on the opposing side of the door frame. THATS IT !!   As an animals weight increases on the triggering pan, the triggering bar in the front of the trap is retracted, resulting in the guillotine door falling closed and locking.

For Bobcat, Cat Rub Lure should be placed on the upper right hand opening of the cage where cats like to feel with their shoulders.

This trap has been fully tested under actual trapline conditions, and delivers superior cage trap performance. Many more photos of successful captures on file to prove it !!

Definitely bent up on arrival
Craig Smyth | May 25th, 2024
I agree with other reviews that is was bent up on arrival. Out of square, had to put my weight on the corner several times to bend it back to rectangular, plus release mechanism was at least 1” out of position. Get out the channellocks and vice grips, you may have to bend some metal to get it working. Haven’t tried it out yet, just a comment on assembly.
Dissapointed

Shipping was fast but the cage had damage in the top rear corner (not enough to justify returning) and the pan had been assembled incorrectly from factory. I had to remove it and re-locate for the door to even work. Once I made adjustments, I was happy with it but the quality control needs to be better for the price.

That's when I caught my first cat. Trap worked well and I like the long trigger pan. Easy setup. The nb trap is a good one

Well built trap
Erick (WA) | November 13th, 2023
Received my trap a couple of weeks ago and it came with some assembly required which is understandable for the size getting ready to put to use in the next couple of days I’m looking at purchasing a couple more. I like the long pan and light trigger. At this time I would recommend this trap and worth the money spent.
