Generally it is very solid and easy to set. The mechanism makes perfect sense. However, I cannot get anything to trigger the trap no matter what bait I use or how I place it on/around the base. I can trigger it with a stick, but the pressure seems far more than a squirrel would exert on it. Giving it a 3 stars as it seems very well made and well thought out.

If I had had the strength--I could've used this trap...had NO idea that it required the STRENGTH of Hercules in one's hands to set it...which I (unfortunately) do no have.....

Need to use a trap set if you don't have adequate hand strength. That would be any older adult. In using one, very awkward because of the small size of the trap.

This design would be better if the sides were covered in some sort of mesh or something. If the rodent tries to eat the bait from the side it doesn't have the desired effect.
