Safeguard Model #54130 Professional Series Cage Trap with a Sliding Rear Door. This trap measures 30"L x 11"W x 12"H. It features 1" x .5" wire mesh over the complete bottom, 3" up each side and the entire back of the trap. The pan has been given a bevel on the backside for added strength, and a sliding rear door has been incorporated for ease of baiting and release of captured animals. This trap is excellent for raccoon, armadillo, feral cats, woodchuck (groundhog), and similarly sized animals.


PROFESSIONAL SERIES FEATURES:

  • All traps made of Galfan™ wire as opposed to common galvanized wire for a higher corrosion resistance, resulting in a three-times longer life.
  • Internal bait tray travel stops.
  • Heavy duty bait tray to eliminate damage by trapped animals.
  • Additional operating rod support rings for superior durability.
  • 1/2" x 1" 14 gauge wire covering the entire floor of trap to protect turf and roof shingles.
  • Carrying handles and hand guard.
  • Trap door reinforced to provide maximum performance and superior animal retention.
  • Made in the USA and covered by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
TIP: Bait placement should be all the way to the rear of the trap, beyond the triggering pan. DO NOT smear or place directly on the triggering pan.  You want the animal to pass over and onto the triggering pan with their focus and attention on the bait.

We needed to replace our vintage Safeguard humane trap and mistakenly replaced it with a local box store trap. The typical kind, green plastic coating, two pack, one small, one large. The first raccoon caught inside the new trap destroyed it, rolled it and ejected himself. $39 gone. Recycled trap at scrapyard and fortunately we had Internet to do search for Safequard brand. Safequard traps are more expensive but after having our vintage trap for forty years, price doesn’t matter. Our new Safeguard trap will outlive us.

I watched Allen's video, got this trap, WCS bait & urine. I followed the video instructions EXACTLY because I have never trapped anything in my life. This worked PERFECTLY !!! I got rid of our yard/neighborhood's problem from the very first effort in JUST four days. That's four woodchucks in four days. I couldn't be happier.
