Safeguard Live Cage Trap with Slide Release Door. This traps dimensions are 36"L x 11"W x 12"H. Great for capturing the largest raccoon, woodchuck or groundhog, badger, armadillo, large cats, small dogs.

STANDARD SERIES FEATURES:

All traps of 24" and larger are made of Galfan® wire as opposed to common galvanized wire for a higher corrosion resistance, resulting in a three-times longer life.
Safeguard Traps are made with a heavy-duty reinforced spring-loaded door, to provide maximum performance and superior animal retention.
All traps include a heavy-duty bait tray designed to eliminate damage by trapped animals.
Safeguard Traps are available in a Front Release or Rear Release models for easier baiting and a safer release process.
All traps are made in the USA are are covered by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects.

TIP: Bait placement should be all the way to the rear of the trap, beyond the triggering pan. DO NOT smear or place directly on the triggering pan. You want the animal to pass over and onto the triggering pan with their focus and attention on the bait.

I rented these from my local SPCA and really liked so I decided to buy one. I love the slide release back to put food and water for my feral cats. It makes it safe and easy having 2 door cage trap.

As a non-profit that specializes in community cat spay/neuter and being the trap bank for several counties in north east Georgia, we have purchased and tried several different trap brands and designs over the years and always come back to Safeguard. We have about 65 traps and 40+ are this style, either 30" or 36". We do recommend hiding the trip plate with newspaper, a thin towel, or cardboard (only use cardboard in the 36" length) because otherwise most cats step over it.

This trap operates well. The open mesh design (being not enclosed) is effective to naturally lure the animal. The extra end door is handy to place food and water and to remove the same if the trap is moved with the animal inside. The release pedal and capture door work to assure positive capture. The trap is well worth its value.
