4 the Birds ®Bird-Proof Transparent Repellent Gel by J.T. Eaton in 10 oz. tubes.  Treat window sills, roof lines, gutter edges, signs, ornamental copings, cornices & ledges. For repelling pigeons, starlings, and house sparrows from buildings and adjacent structures. 4 the Birds Transparent Gel is easily applied with a caulking gun or putty knife and is weather resistant for lasting outdoor application. All surfaces should be cleared of dust, dirt, droppings, and loose debris before treatment application. A second treatment may be necessary if flattened by heavy bird traffic. 4 The Birds Gel will not harm birds when used as directed.

Treat window sills, roof lines, gutter edges, signs, ornamental copings, cornices & ledges. For repelling pigeons, starlings, and house sparrows, gulls, crows, ravens, from buildings and adjacent structures.

Structural damage is the most readily apparent. Beyond the destruction of paint and other finishes, there is the damage caused by nests clogging gutters and downspouts, deterioration of roofing, damage to fixtures, machinery, equipment, lighting and more.

Contamination

Of course, there also is the contamination and spoilage of food. Like rats and mice, pest birds actually contaminate more food than they consume. The invasion of just a few birds into a warehouse or food processing plant can cause thousands of dollars lost in food that must be destroyed, the shutting down of production and stiff fines levied by Federal regulatory agencies.

In addition to these consequences, nuisance birds can create serious risks to the health of farm animals, pets and even humans.

Diseases

In fact pest birds are associated with more than 60 transmittable diseases and more than 50 parasites.These diseases include: Histoplasmosis, a respiratory disease that can be fatal. Candidiasis, a yeast or fungus infection particularly spread by pigeons. Cryptococcosis, caused by a yeast found in pigeon and starling droppings. Encephalitis, which inflames the nervous system and can lead to paralysis or even death. Salmonellosis, a “food poisoning” traced to pigeons, starlings and house sparrows.

Parasites

In addition to the dangers of bites and irritations, various parasites spread by nuisance birds also can cause diseases among domesticated animals and humans. These parasites include fleas, ticks, bed bugs, mites and lice. In such cases as these, pest birds can be far more than a “nuisance.” Businessmen, plant operators and managers of offices and housing complexes most affected by pest birds must include bird control measures in their IPM programs.
